TUF 16 Episode 7: TV Ratings

After a slight reprieve last week, The Ultimate Fighter 16’s TV ratings plummeted again on Friday night with just 676,000 viewers tuning in for the seventh episode on FX.

That’s a drop of 135,000 viewers from the previous week and leaves it with the dubious distinction of being the second lowest ratings ever for the long-running reality show.

In the past Dana White has noted that despite it’s slide in the ratings that TUF still delivers in terms of it’s key demographics, but even they appear to have deserted them at this point with the latest episode coming just 8th in the rankings for Males 18-49 in it’s timeslot.

At this stage all concerned at the UFC and FX are probably wishing the season would just finish ASAP so they can put it behind them and focus on the hope of a resurgence next year when Jon Jones and Chael Sonnen will coach TUF 17 on a new weekday night, but there’s still another five episodes to go and who knows how low the ratings might go before the finale in December.
