TUF 16 Finale: TV Ratings

The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale on Saturday night was watched by 1.3 million viewers on FX.

The show faired significantly better than ‘UFC On FX 6’ which had aired on the same channel 24hrs earlier to just 976,000 viewers, and was also up 300,000 viewers from the ‘TUF 15 Finale’ earlier in the year.

The ‘TUF 16 Finale’ prelims on Fuel TV didn’t fare so well though, with an average of 104,000 viewers tuning in to the action.

As far as TUF Finale’s go the line-up for this one was fairly solid despite season coach Shane Carwin pulling out through injury and the last-minute call-off of the Melvin Guillard Vs Jamie Varner main card scrap due to illness.

Often these fight cards are filled with contestants from the show, but on this occasion 12 of the 16 competitors had already been released after the regular season had ended and so that made more room for established fighters like Pat Barry, Dustin Poirier and Mike Pyle which it benefited from and made it the more desirable event to watch overall compared with the previous evening’s ‘UFC On FX’ card.
