The Ultimate Fighter 18’s second episode drew an average of 870,000 viewers on FOX Sports 1 this past Wednesday night.
That’s an increase of 108,000 viewers compared with the previous week’s episode which is a good sign for the show as historically it’s very rare that the second episode outdoes the premiere.
It suggests that perhaps some fans are still finding their way to the next channel and getting accustomed to shows like TUF being on there instead of FX. This will certainly have been helped by the fact that FOX were doing a good job of advertising it during their football coverage at the weekend.
The audience still isn’t where the UFC would like it to be, but it’s heading in the right direction and is already marking itself out as one of FOX Sports 1’s leading programs.
In fact, Wednesday’s episode had the third highest audience in the channel’s brief history, though it has to be said that in general FOX Sports 1 has got off to a rocky start and is struggling to find it’s footing.
