One frustration about Strikeforce events on Showtime is that they never air bouts from the preliminary card, even if it means that the show doesn’t run for it’s fully allotted time.

Thankfully for this weekend’s Strikeforce: Houston event the promotion have looked to somewhat rectify the problem by airing two of the undercard fights live via

First up we’ll see highly decorated wrestler Daniel Cormier taking on Jason Riley in a heavyweight match-up.   Remarkably Cormier will be undertaking him third fight in less than a month having claimed the XMMA title in Australia at the end of last month, and then two weeks later secured the King Of The Cage title in New Mexico. Now just seven days after that he’ll take on Riley in Houston, Texas.

Along with that fight we’ll also see world class jiu-jitsu practitioner Andre Galvao take on Jorge Patino who steps in at late notice for Nate Moore.

Meanwhile on the main card which will air live on Showtime fans will be treated to two title fights as King Mo takes on Feijao for the light-heavyweight belt, while Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza and Tim Kennedy battle it out for the vacant middleweight strap.
