UFC 112: Fighter Injuries And Suspensions

A total of seven fighters have been handed medical suspensions after their fights at last weekend’s UFC 112 event in Abu Dhabi, mmajunkie have reported.

Two fighters, Demian Maia and Rick Story have been been suspended for 180 days for the injuries they sustained during the event, though they can be cleared earlier by a doctor.

Maia must undergo a CT scan of his head to discover the extent of the facial damage inflicted by Anderson Silva in their title fight, while Story has issues with his right knee and left elbow that require x-rays.

Brad Blackburn, Matt Veach, Kendall Grove, Renzo Gracie and Phil Davis have also been handed minor suspensions ranging from 30-45 days for precautionary reasons.
