The first airing of recent pay-per-view event UFC 113: Machida Vs Shogun 2 attracted 1.5 million viewers to Spike TV on Saturday night.

The re-run was set in place to counter-program the Strikeforce: Fedor Vs Werdum event which was airing live on Showtime on the same evening.

Earlier today Showtime officials revealed that an average of 500,000 had tuned into their event, though Spike TV posted their own figures, taken from Neilson Media Research which indicated that it had in fact drawn 412,000 viewers.  Showtime say that figure does not include DVR data however.

The UFC 113 event on Spike garnered a 1.1 household rating and was the No.1 most watched program amongst males aged 18-34 and 18-49.

Overall the ratings were similar to a re-run of UFC 110 back in April which drew 1.4 million viewers.
