The official attendance for UFC 116: Lesnar Vs Carwin has finally been revealed as 12,740, bringing in a total gate of $4,053,990.

Considering the magnitude of the headline fight it’s perhaps a little surprising that a further 2,194 tickets went unsold, but the relatively expensive ticket prices given the current economy may well have had something to do with it.

The rest of the fight card was also perceived to be relatively lacking in star power, though ironically despite that it ended up delivering one of the best night of fights in the UFC’s history.

Despite not being a full house the event’s gate still ranks as the 5th highest in UFC’s history at the MGM Grand Garden Arena which has played host to a number of previous blockbuster fights like UFC 66: Liddell Vs Ortiz 2 (13,761 / $5,397,300) and UFC 94: St Pierre Vs Hardy 2 (14,885 / $4,290,000).
