On August 7th we’ll finally get to see the rematch between top welterweight talents Thiago Alves and Jon Fitch at UFC 117.

The second encounter between the two was originally set to take place at UFC 111 in March, but a brain irregularity found in Alves CAT scan forced him out of the bout and requiring minor surgery.

Thankfully the problem, which doctors now believe was their since birth, has been corrected and Alves is at 100% as he looks for revenge against the only person to ever stop him with strikes.

Both fighters are in confident mood heading into the fight and see a win in this fight as a perfect stage to demonstrate their talents.

Check out both of their pre-fight interviews for the UFC below.

Thiago Alves:

“I’m gonna knock Fitch out. Nobody’s stopped that guy. That’s my goal, I’m gonna knock him out and make a statement.”

Jon Fitch:

“A win over Thiago Alves puts me right back in line for a title shot, especially if I can stop him. If I can stop Thiago Alves, I did something twice that GSP couldn’t do in five rounds.”
