The Honda Center in Anaheim, California played host to UFC 121: Lesnar Vs Velasquez last weekend and produced an attendance of 14,856, bringing in a total gate of $2.2 million.
Brock Lesnar was of course the star attraction, but the UFC’s marketing machine’s decision to focus heavily on Cain Velasquez Mexican heritage also paid off with a higher proportion of Latino fans than normal buying tickets for the show.
The attendance figure breaks the mixed martial arts event record for The Honda Center which has previously hosted shows by both the UFC multiple times and Affliction.
The numbers make the show the 5th highest attended UFC show in the U.S in 2010.
