Saturday night’s UFC 126 prelim show broke the previous ratings record for the program on Spike TV the network revealed today.
An average of 2 million viewers tuned into the hour long show prior to the main card on pay-per-view, and produced a 1.2 overall household rating.
That smashes the previous record of 1.7 million viewers for the Spike prelim shows set at UFC 109 back in February of 2010.
In addition the broadcast was the No.1 rated program in it’s timeslot for both men 18-49 and 18-34, with an overall 1.7 rating in those key demographics.
The show featured two live prelims, Donald Cerrone Vs Paul Kelly and Chad Mendes Vs Michihiro Omigawa.
Overall the UFC 106 fight card as a whole was widely perceived to be one of the strongest line-ups the promotion had put on in quite some time, and it appears that fans responded positively to that.
