Ryan Bader will go into his fight with Jon Jones at UFC 126 on February 5th knowing that much of the attention will be on his opponent who’s one of the sports fastest rising sports at this moment in time.

The TUF season 8 winner is more than happy for people to think that Jones is going to emerge victorious, and he looks forward to having the chance to prove them wrong.

“You know I’ve been the underdog a lot in the UFC and I love playing that role. It’s going to be sweet when I go out there and upset him,” Bader says in his pre-fight promo video for UFC.com.

“I’m looking to go out there and derail the hype, I’m looking to go out there and beat Jon Jones.”

Beyond ‘Bones’ eye-catching moves, Bader believes he matches up well with him in certain areas that could be the key to victory in Las Vegas.

“I just feel I have a little more wider range of wrestling base, and my power – he’s got to respect it. He’s got to be definitely be smart about just trying to rushing in trying to throw me.”

Both Jones (5-1 in the UFC) and Bader (5-0) are currently riding a wave of momentum in the light-heavyweight division, and with the No.1 contender spot almost within reach Bader is determined not to let the moment pass him by.

“This fight is huge, I’m mean this fight is the future. The winner is right up there as one of the No.1 contenders. I’m not anyone’s stepping stone and I’m not anyone’s gauge to see where they’re at in the 205lb division. I’m here to win and that’s what I’m going to do.”
