Just moments ago we posted the latest news on UFC 127’s line-up and warned that it was starting to get a little too stacked and may be subject to change.
No sooner had we published it than we discovered via Brazilian site TATAME that UFC 127’s expected headline bout between Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort is now headed for UFC 126 instead.
“I already spoke to Lorenzo (Fertitta) and we already agreed with this fight,” Belfort’s manager tells TATAME. “We already received the contract to sign… It’ll be at UFC 126, between January and Fabruary. Vitor is really well, training hard and very motivated for this fight. He’s with his family in Las Vegas, training with a top team, with Shawn Thompkins, and very, very motivated”
The event has yet to be officially announced but it is known that it will take place in January of 2011 in Pittsburgh.
The shift means that a rumored bout between Rich Franklin and Forrest Griffin should now settle into the headliner role for the UFC 127 event on February 5th.
