The UFC will make a return trip to Abu Dhabi in 2011, with March 19th earmarked for the UFC 128 event.

Abu Dhabi is of course the home of UFC stakeholder Flash Entertainment so a trip back to the middle east was always likely to be on the horizon, and in fact comes almost exactly a year after UFC 112: Silva Vs Maia.

The event is once again expected to take place within the confines of the ‘Ferrari World’ arena and rumor has it that, assuming he has fully recovered from knee surgery by that stage, Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua will defend his light-heavyweight title against Rashad Evans in the headline event.

If true that’s a major fight for an overseas event and indicates the willingness of the UFC to please their foreign partners and make amends for what was seen as a disappointing debut in the region due to a lackluster main event between Anderson Silva and Demian Maia.
