UFC light-heavyweight title contender Jon Jones was a special guest on Fox5 New York today, being interviewed about his title fight with Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua on Saturday night.

No hard-hitting questions here, but Jones showed exactly why he can be a great role model and ambassador for the sport with his easy-going, polite and charismatic delivery. That’s particularly relevant in a state like New York where the UFC is still battling to have the sport legalized.

While everybody loves the rough, tough fighters in the sport, clean-cut stars with a professional attitude are worth their weight in gold to the UFC as they try to break the sport on a mainstream level.

In the past established stars like GSP, Rich Franklin and Kenny Florian have fulfilled this role when required, and at the relatively young age of 23 Jones could be set to do likewise.
