Yesterday we announced that two preliminary bouts from UFC 129: GSP Vs Shields would be airing live on Facebook, but barely 24 hours later the UFC have stepped up to the plate with an even better offer – all five prelim bouts (in addition to the two airing live and free on Spike TV prior to the main PPV card) will be broadcast on the social networking site.
So, for a full run down of what’s now in store on Facebook see below.
- Claude Patrick vs. Daniel Roberts
- Ivan Menjivar vs. Charlie Valencia
- Jason MacDonald vs. Ryan Jensen
- John Makdessi vs. Kyle Watson
- Pablo Garza vs. Yves Jabouin
To watch you simply have to ‘like’ the UFC’s official Facebook page.
While the UFC have been very generous with broadcasting free prelim fights recently, this really is above and beyond the call of duty, and more than likely stems from the fact that this is a huge event for them being as it’s set to smash both their attendance and gate records by some distance.
55,000 fans are expected to pack into the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada for the event, with gate receipts estimated to be in the region of $10 million+.
