UFC 134: Rio is apparently the hottest ticket in Brazil right now, with the August 27th event selling out in just 74 minutes yesterday.

This is the first time the UFC has visited the country in over a decade and at a press conference on Thursday UFC president Dana White confessed that they should have come back to the region a lot sooner. The way in which the 14,000 tickets have been snapped up puts the rubber stamp on that assessment.

White had in fact already committed to returning to Brazil though prior to the tickets going on sale, confirming at the press conference that they now have plans to take the UFC to a number of cities around the country in the future.

The card features a host of top Brazilian fighters, including headliner and middleweight title holder Anderson Silva who’s finally becoming a star in his native country following his KO of Vitor Belfort earlier in the year, plus the likes of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua.
