UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo talks about his upcoing UFC 136 co-main event fight with Kenny Florian in a new interview with UFC.com.
Florian is arguably the toughest and most experienced opponent of Aldo’s career, but the Brazilian believes that the tough weight cut ‘Ken-Flo’ endures to get down to 145lbs makes the veteran fighter less of a threat.
“I definitely don’t think Kenny Florian has the same strength as a featherweight,” Aldo states. “I’m definitely going to look to exploit that.”
Aldo is also 10 years younger than Florian and in his athletic prime which he also expects to be a factor on Saturday night.
“I do believe I’m quicker than Florian. I also think I am a much more explosive fighter. Quickness and explosiveness are two of my best weapons. I plan to use both of them to my advantage against Florian.”
So Aldo is heading into this bout full of confidence, and he’s ready to bring the fight to Florian and has every intention of ensuring that he fails in his third attempt to get his hands on a UFC title.
“Naturally I like to attack. I like to move forward and that’s not going to be any different against Florian. I’m going to go in there and push the pace. Whatever opportunities present themselves, I’m going to take them and finish the fight.
“I will beat Kenny Florian. I step into the Octagon everytime with the goal of walking out a winner.”
