Tickets for October 29th’s UFC 137 event sold out on Wednesday despite considerable upheaval to the two main fights on the card.
Just hours after tickets went on sale Nick Diaz was pulled from his main event title fight with GSP over his failure to attend his pre-fight media duties, with Carlos Condit being unveiled as his replacement.
By that stage White admitted that tickets had already been selling fast, and it seems the switch did little to dampen enthusiasm for the Las Vegas show.
White had revealed that the last minute change would mean that anyone who had bought a ticket prior to the announcement would be able to get a refund, but it’s unlikely that many would consider doing so given that a day later Nick Diaz was brought back onto the card in an equally compelling co-main event bout with BJ Penn.
With two very strong fights topping the bill and all the drama that has surrounded the event over the past week this looks like being one of the biggest shows of the year for the promotion.
