Last weekend’s UFC 138 event in the UK aired via tape-delay on Spike TV later the same day and averaged 1.8 million viewers.
The main card opener between Terry Etim and Edward Faaloloto was watched by 1.37 million viewers and that increased up to 2.13 million for the main event between Mark Munoz and Chris Leben.
The event was the No.1 most watched cable program in it’s timeslot for men aged 18-34 and 18-49.
The numbers fall into line with recent live UFC Fight Night offerings on Spike, including UFC Fight Night 25 in September which also drew 1.8 million viewers.
The UFC now has less than two months remaining on it’s current TV deal with Spike before moving to FOX in January.
Spike TV plan to remain in the MMA business though, with Bellator Fighting Championships pencilled in as their replacement, though that move will not take place until 2013.
