Following tonight’s UFC 165 event in Toronto the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 fighter bonus awards were announced.
There’ll be no prizes for guessing that ‘Fight Of The Night’ went to the instant classic encounter between Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson.
The question now is whether anything can beat it to ‘Fight Of The Year’ status? I’m my opinion – definitely, but if there’s a better bout to come I can’t wait to see it!
‘Knockout Of The Night’ was handed to Renan Barao who stopped Eddie Wineland with a spinning back kick early in the second round.
Finally, ‘Submission Of The Night’ honors goes to Mitch Gagnon who choked Dustin Kimura unconscious with a guillotine in the prelims.
