UFC 174 Medical Suspensions

The medical suspensions list resulting from last weekend’s UFC 174 event shows that Ryan Jimmo did indeed suffer a fight-ending broken arm against Ovince St. Preux, which was believed to have initially happened when he blocked a kick, though he fought on for a while afterwards before verbally submitting.

Meanwhile, Brendan Schaub didn’t break his jaw after all, but he still has to sit out for 90 days due to an eyelid laceration and stitches on the right side of his face. He also requires a CT scan.

The other fighter who suffered the most visible damage on the night was Valerie Letourneau and the good news is that despite fears that she had fractured her left orbital it’s now been confirmed that her eye is just very badly swollen so she might not need to sit out for the full six month suspension.

Tae Hyun Bang is also out for half a year after breaking his nose, but he’ll be able to rest easy during that period thanks to winning $100,000 worth of bonus money on the night for his KO victory.
