UFC 177 Main Card Undergoes Another Late Change

The UFC 177 main card has suffered another blow a little over a week out from fight night with a heavyweight encounter between Ruslan Magomedov and Richard Odoms being scrapped due to Odoms having been forced to withdraw for undisclosed reasons.

Magomedov and Odoms had originally been scheduled as a preliminary card fight, but had been promoted to the pay-per-view portion of the event after the co-main event between Demetrious Johnson and Chris Cariaso was switched to the main event of UFC 178 next month to cover for the loss of Jon Jones Vs Daniel Cormier.

As a result another preliminary fight between Justin Edwards and Yancy Madeiros has now been pushed up to the main card.

Meanwhile, another fight between UFC newcomers Cain Carrizosa and Chris Wade has been drafted in at short notice to open up the prelims and bring the card back up to a total of 10 fights.

UFC 177 takes place on August 30th in Sacremento, California and remains headlined by a bantamweight title rematch between TJ Dillashaw and Renan Barao while Danny Castillo Vs Tony Ferguson is installed as the co-main event for what, on paper at least, looks in the running to be the weakest UFC pay-per-view line-up of the year.
