UFC 185 Prelims: TV Ratings

This past Saturday night’s UFC 185 preliminary card was watched by an average of 1,003,000 viewers on the FX Channel.

That’s good news as it means that yet again the UFC have cracked the one million barrier which has become a welcome trend since the turn of the year, including UFC 182, UFC 183 and UFC 184’s preliminary coverage.

On the other hand, we’re not comparing like-for-like here as Saturday’s show was on FX while these days the UFC’s events are generally shown on Fox Sports 1.

Nonetheless, it’s still a significant improvement from the last time they appeared on the FX channel for the UFC 174 prelims which only pulled in 784,000 viewers last year. It also outperformed FX’s average audience of 820,000 for all programs during the past week which will be an extra feather in the UFC’s cap.

UFC 185’s ratings were probably helped by having a relatively solid prelim card which was headlined by familiar faces in Ross Pearson and Sam Stout along with others like TUF Nations winner Elias Theodorou, Beneil Dariush and Daron Cruickshank.
