Prelims:

Ross Pearson defeats Paul Felder by split decision (28-29, 30=27, 29-28)

This looked like a good fight on paper, and so it proved to be on the night. In the opening round Felder seemed to have the edge in the clinch landing hard knees to the body, though Pearson briefly took him down off a kick and also bundled him to the ground with a spinning kick at the end of the five minute spell though it may have been more of a slip than anything else. In the second Pearson started to get into his groove, using good head movement and footwork while scoring with leg kicks, body work and his left hook, though Felder was still making it competitive. The final round was a close one to call, but Pearson did seem to have the crisper strikes and movement overall and it’s he who secures a split decision win.

John Lineker defeats Francisco Rivera by submission (guillotine choke) at 2.08mins of Rd1

What a crazy scrap. The two men opted to abandon all thoughts of defense and just wing huge hooks at each other toe-to-toe almost from the opening bell. Both men ate hard shots, but it was Rivera who wilted first, getting dropped by a hard blow only to get back up and continue where they had left off. Lineker again put him down, but Rivera was still fighting back. He managed to get upright once again, but Lineker dragged him back down with a guillotine choke attempt and forced the tap out. Wild stuff.

Raquel Pennington defeats Jessica Andrade by submission (rear-naked choke) at 4.58mins of Rd2

Good competitive fight here with Pennington in particular doing well with solid boxing combinations on the feet and then surprising Andrade with her ground skills, seizing her back late in the second round and sinking in the rear-naked choke, forcing the tap with just a couple of seconds to go.

Tiago Trator defeats Clay Collard by split decision (29-28 x2, 28-29)

A close fight here, but Trator had more to offer on the mat and was more technical / less reckless on the feet which gave him the edge over three rounds by split decision.

Joe Riggs defeats Ron Stallings via Disqualification (Illegal Upkick) at 2.28mins of R2
Joaquim Silva defeats Nazareno Malegarie via split decision (28-29, 30-27 x2)
