The UFC rounded off their series of live events on Versus on a high last night as they produced both their best attendance and gate records of the six shows aired on the network.

The ‘UFC On Versus 6’ event was held in Washington D.C and drew an attendance of 9,380, raking in a gate of $706,775.

That comfortably surpasses both the previous high of 8,319 attendees for UFC On Versus 3 back in March, and the $568,125 gate that UFC On Versus 1 did in March of 2010.

The reason for the success here is likely down to the fact that Washington is a largely untapped market for them, while the fact they brought a title fight between Dominick Cruz and Demetrious Johnson won’t have hurt either.

The question now is whether they have been able to improve upon the TV ratings they’ve so far been producing on the network which have so far been significantly below what they would expect on Spike TV.  We’ll find out those figures within the next few days.
