A persistent rumor suggests that the UFC are set to host a second ‘Fight For The Troops’ event in Fort Hood, Texas on January 22nd, 2011.

The first such event happened in December of 2008 and was a big success, raising over $4 million for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.  Now details are emerging about potential bouts for a second event, which is also currently going under the ‘Fight Night 23’ moniker.

After a long-term lay-off due to a stomach problem Mike Swick yesterday hinted that he may feature at the event.

“So there is a UFC Fight for the Troops event in Texas on January 22nd huh? Wonder who will fight on that card? Hmmm…” – Mike Swick.

Earlier this year Swick spent an extended period of time traveling around the globe to visit U.S troops so it makes sense for him to be part of an event like this.

UFC vets Melvin Guillard Vs Yves Edwards are also reported to be doing battle at the event, while TUF 10’s Matt Mitrione is set to put his current three fight winning streak on the line against Tim Hague, and TUF 9’s Marques Johnson confirmed via his website that he’ll be taking on Mike Guymon.

Despite various fighters confirming the date of their fights the UFC has yet to officially confirm the event.
