The UFC’s first visit to Seattle for last night’s UFC Fight Night 24 event is officially a record after smashing both the gate and attendance records for a Fight Night event.

Dana White had first suggested that would be the case during a Q&A session earlier in the week, calling it a “mini-Toronto” after demand far outstripped their original plans to house 8,000 fans.

As it turned 14,212 fans packed into the Key Arena last night, far eclipsing the previous Fight Night attendance record of 10,267 set at UFN 18: Condit Vs Kampmann. In addition a live gate of $1,182,850 also proved to be a record.

Thanks to the success of the event it’s now highly likely that the promotion will be heading back to Seattle sooner rather than later.
