UFC Fight Night 24: Tito Ortiz And Lil Nog Discuss Their Upcoming Fight

Today the UFC officially unveiled UFC Fight Night 24 which takes place on March 26th and will be headlined by a light-heavyweight showdown between Tito Ortiz and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.

After a 0-4-1 record over the past four years, former 205lb champion Ortiz job will be on the line at the show which will air live on Spike TV.

“This is a must-win fight for Tito Ortiz,” UFC President Dana White said. “Everyone knows that Tito and I have had a rocky relationship, but he’s been with us since we started this company and we’re on good terms now.

“This is the biggest fight of his career. ‘Lil Nog’ is ranked in the top 10 in the world and a win puts Tito back in the mix.”

Ortiz himself is not dwelling on his future in the promotion, and instead is simply focusing on the task at hand.

“I’m ready to get back in there and kick some ass,” Ortiz said. ‘Lil Nog’ is one of the best fighters in the world. He’s dangerous on the feet and on the ground; that’s why you won’t hear me talking any smack. I have a lot of respect for him and I can’t wait to get back in there and give the fans in Seattle a great show.”

Nogueira will also be looking to put in a good display after losing for the first time in eight fights against Ryan Bader in his last Octagon outing.

“Tito Ortiz is a former champion and I’m excited to get the chance to fight him in the main event in Seattle,” Nogueira said. “I’m training hard and expect a difficult fight. Tito’s ground and pound is really good and he is a talented athlete. This should be a great fight for the fans.”

Tickets for the event go on sale on January 29th, with pre-sale tickets available on the 27th.
