UFC Fight Night 42 TV Ratings

This past weekend’s UFC Fight Night 42 event in New Mexico was watched by an average of 1,217,000 viewers on FOX Sports 1, while the prelims were taken in by an average of 812,000 viewers.

Those are strong numbers for the promotion, essentially doubling the number of viewers from the TUF Brazil 3 Finale last week and marking it out as the third most watched Fight Night event to date on FS1.

This was a well put together fight card from top to bottom, with former lightweight champion Ben Henderson and co-main event star Diego Sanchez being the two biggest names on the card who’ll likely have had a notable impact on the ratings, but there were respected fighters and interesting match-up sprinkled right the way through the line-up.

At a time when there’s a lot of concern about the number of events that the UFC is now holding it’s a sign that a good number of fans will still tune in if the promotion are putting on a fight card that’s worthy of their time.
