Fight Report

Alan Jouban defeats Seth Baczynski by KO at 4.23mins of Rd1

Very entertaining one round battle here. Early in the fight Jouban landed a good kick upstairs only to then find himself in big trouble as Baczynski fired back with a big left hook that buckled his legs and then had him backing up under more fire power. Jouban had looked bright to begin with, but the spring was now out of his step and Baczynski was very much in the ascendancy. However the newcomer wasn’t done yet and stunned Backzynski with a punch in the final minute of the round that had him hitting reverse gear. Jouban found his second wind and seized the moment, with a hard, compact left uppercut connecting flush and sending Baczynski crashing unceremoniously to the canvas, knocked out!

Shawn Jordan defeats Jack May by TKO at 2.03mins of Rd3

After a close first round, things really opened up in the second round of this heavyweight encounter as May opened up a cut to Jordan’s right eye with a big left hook and soon after had him backed up against the cage and looked close to a finish as he blasted away with hard punches to the head. Jordan froze for a moment, but then his survival instinct kicked in and he started firing back and reached for a takedown which luckily for him was successful. From that point on the fight swung in his favor despite the fact his right eye was now essentially swollen shut. His grappling superiority was clear to see and he enjoyed spells in full mount at times during the rest of that round, and then secured another takedown early in the third. That seemed to take the wind out of the tiring May’s sails and as Jordan began raining down blows he opted to just cover up rather than try to get out of danger and so after giving him time to do something the referee eventually decided enough was enough, handing Jordan the TKO win with 2.03mins of the final round gone.

Thiago Tavares defeats Robbie Peralta by submission (rear-naked choke) at 4.27mins of Rd1

Tavares proved to be too big and too technical in his featherweight debut against Peralta. He got his opponent to the mat early and almost finished him quickly with strikes after getting on his back and flattening him out. Peralta survived, but then Tavares got into full mount and dished out more punishment. Eventually Tavares took his back once again and this time sunk in a deep rear-naked choke to force the tap.
