UFC Fight Night 64 Medical Suspensions

The UFC Fight Night 64 medical suspensions list is out and shows several fighters facing a potential six month spell on the sidelines.

First up is Gabriel Gonzaga who suffered facial injuries at the hands and elbows of Mirko ‘Cro Cop’ Filipovic that’s left him facing a potential 180 day suspension unless he gets the all clear from a CT scan.

Despite emerging victorious via unanimous decision in the co-main event Jimi Manuwa has an issue with both of his shins that could also keep him out of action for six months. While not listed here, Manuwa also came into the fight with torn ligaments in one of his knees which hampered his performance and he now anticipates will require surgery.

Sheldon Westcott turned in a disappointing performance on the main card in Poland and to add to his woes he damaged both his elbows.

Also suffering an elbow injury was Joanne Calderwood who likely damaged hers trying to fend off a fight-finishing armbar that slammed the door shut on her chances of a potential strawweight title shot next and now could see her sitting out for six months – though she’ll surely be doing everything she can to recover in time to fight in her native Scotland in July.

Continuing the elbow theme is Yaotzin Meza who has damaged both of his, while rounding off the six month suspensions is heavyweight Anthony Hamilton who suffered an injury to his right eye.
