UFC Fight Night 99 Quick Picks

UFC Fight Night 99 takes place this Saturday in Belfast, Northern Ireland – the first of two events in the same day from the promotion – and we’ve got our quick picks for all the fights below.

Main Card:

Gegard Mousasi vs. Uriah Hall

Hall caught Mousasi by surprise last time out with a spinning back kick followed by a flying knee and with his ability it’s entirely possible that lightning could strike twice on Saturday night.

However, Mousasi was bossing that fight up until the stoppage, and I think it will be much the same story here, except this time he’ll emerge relatively unscathed after ougrappling his opponent claim a decision victory.

Gegard Mousasi to win by decision.

Stevie Ray vs. Ross Pearson

This is a much better match-up for Ray than his last fight in Brazil as it’s likely to be won and lost on the feet.

However, he’s coming in on short notice, and though Pearson’s recent record is extremely patchy, I think he’ll hold the technical striking edge in a closely fought encounter that goes to the judges scorecards.

Ross Pearson to win by decision.

Timothy Johnson vs. Alexander Volkov

Volkov is a former Bellator heavyweight champion, but I suspect he’ll have a tough night implementing his striking game against Johnson’s grinding wrestling game.

Timothy Johnson to win by decision.

Teruto Ishihara vs. Artem Lobov

With a 12-12-1 career record, Lobov is really only still on the roster thanks to being Conor McGregor’s team-mate and his brawling approach will be met head-up by Ishihara, who will also be willing to slug it out, but is more skilled and has bigger power, so this one might not last too long.

Teruto Ishihara to win by KO in Rd1.
