UFC Fighter Matt Grice Gives Thumbs Up To Family After Being Taken Out Of Sedation

UFC fighter Matt Grice has been taken off sedation and is breathing unassisted almost two weeks after he was involved in a serious car accident that left him in a coma with a traumatic brain injury.

It was revealed on the ‘UFC Tonight’ show on FOX Sports 1 last night that Grice has been responding to visual cues, has shown movement in his arms and legs and has even given his family a thumbs up signal since having been taken off of sedation medication.

The 32 year-old had underwent brain surgery the night of the accident in Oklahomo City which occured when a car slammed into his from behind while he was waiting at a red light.

Of course there’s still a long road ahead for Grice and it’s too early to say what the short and long term effects of his injuries may be, but after a long spell in which there seemed to be little improvement in his condition it must be a great relief for his family to see some positive signs at last that he’s getting better.
