Prelims:

Alex Caceres defeats Sergio Pettis by submission (rear-naked choke) at 4.39mins of Rd3

Caceres produced the upset tonight against the highly touted up and comer Pettis. Pettis started well enough, edging the first round with his slick combinations of punches and kicks. However, he was stunned in the second round when Caceres dropped him with a left hand. Pettis recovered well and was very much in the fight for the rest of the round, but this was a big warning that he wasn’t going to have it all his own way. In the third it was close and competitive again in the striking department, so heading into the final minute it was anyone’s fight. Pettis attempted to seal the deal with a takedown, but that proved to be an error in judgement as Caceres ended up on top. Pettis responds with a heel hook, but Caceres slips out, takes his opponent’s back and swiftly sinks in a rear-naked choke. It’s tight and Pettis is forced to tap.

Eddie Wineland defeats Yves Jabouin by TKO at 4.16mins of Rd2

The first round was competitive in this fight, but as the second round progressed Wineland started to stamp his authority on the contest, hurting Jabouin with a right hand and then soon after landing another one flush to the face which dropped Jabouin. Wineland mounted and thought about a submission before reverting to elbow strikes instead. Jabouin attempted to turn to his front, but only got half way as Wineland rained down heavy blows that resulted in the TKO stoppage.

Chico Camus defeats Yaotzin Meza by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28 x2)

Camus was able to control Meza on the ground for large portions of this fight while also being capable on the feet as he cruised to a comfortable win on the scorecards.

Hugo Viana defeats Junior Hernandez by unanimous decision (29-28 x3)

For the first two rounds of this fight Viana was bossing the stand-up action, consistently pushing the pace and winging big shots in Hernandez direction as often as possible. In the third round Hernandez finally started to push back and landed some good shots as Viana appeared to be tiring and opted to circle out of danger on the outside for much of the round. It turned out to be too little too late for Hernandez and Viana secured the decision win.

Daron Cruickshank defeats Mike Rio by TKO at 4.56mins of Rd2

Good win for Cruickshank here. He had Rio in danger late in the first round with a head kick, but couldn’t finish him. He made up for that in the closing stages of the second though after escaping a heel hook submission on the mat. Soon after he stunned Rio on the feet with a wheel kick to the face, then swarmed on him with punches against the cage. Rio sunk to the canvas and Cruickshank continued to rain down blows until the ref stepped in to end the fight.

George Sullivan defeats Mike Rhodes by unanimous decision (29-28 x3)

There wasn’t much between these two over the course of three rounds, but Sullivan offered up a little more offense and had more left in his tank in the final round, while Rhodes, who’d taken the fight on short notice, was struggling.

Nikita Krylov defeats Walter Harris by TKO at 0.25mins of Rd1

The opening fight of the evening is over quickly as Krylov connects with a head kick that rocks Harris, followed up with ground and pound for the TKO finish.
