Both Forrest Griffin and Tito Ortiz have been calling for a third and final meeting between the two light-heavyweights and it appears the UFC has given them the green light to do so.

In a Q&A session on twitter last night UFC CEO lorenzo Fertitta confirmed that Griffin Vs ortiz 3 is in the works, though he didn’t give a date for the bout.

The two men currently hold a win each with both fights ending in close and somewhat controversial decisions so there is certainly a reason to hold a third meeting between them, though it’s by no means a fight that fans have been crying out for.

Win or lose, Ortiz has indicated previously that his next fight will be his last.

With that in mind, and given that both he and Griffin are two of the most recognisable fighters in the sport it would not be too much of a surprise if this bout forms part of the ‘UFC On FOX 3’ fight card on May 5th.
