After a successful debut in Australia in 2010 it’s now been established that the UFC will be heading back down under in 2011.

On February 27th the promotion are now penciled in to make a return visit to Sydney for UFC 127 with the Acer Arena again believed to be the venue for the show.  UFC 110: Velasquez Vs Nogueira drew an attendance of 17,431 and gate of $2.5 million at the same arena making it a highly profitable destination for the promotion.

At this stage there’s little indication of who will be fighting other than a suggestion that Carlos Condit Vs Chris Lytle will feature on the main card.

Local hero George Sotiropoulos is also a likely candidate for the show.  At one stage it was believed that he may have been in line to get a lightweight title shot at the show if he successfully defeats Joe Lauzon at UFC 123 later this month, but the UFC’s merger with the WEC has changed things up and there’s likely to be a unification bout between the two promotion’s champions first.

The event is believed to have been slated as a pay-per-view broadcast.
