UFC Makes First Visit To China At ‘UFC On Fuel TV 6’ In November

The UFC will make his debut in the Chinese market on November 10th with ‘UFC On Fuel TV 6’ the promotion has announced.

“Breaking into a market with a population of over 1.3 billion is both a testament to the growth of our sport and a long-term challenge we are excited to undertake,” UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta stated. “This is just the first of many world-class fights we plan to hold over the coming years in China, one of the birthplaces of martial arts.”

The show will take place at the 15,000 seater CotaiArena at the Venetian Macao-Resort-Hotel in Macao which Fertitta described as a “world class” venue.

The promotion has made it a priority this year to break back into the Asian market under the supervision of Mark Fischer, their Executive Vice President and Managing Director for Asia who was hired in 2010 to help navigate this potentially tricky marketplace.

They’ve already made a long overdue and relatively successful return to Japan for UFC 144 back in February, China was an obvious next step with their enormous population, which is estimated to be in the region of 1.34 million people, being a potential goldmine for the organization.

So far no fights have been announced for the event.
