UFC On FOX 11 TV Ratings (Overnight)

The overnight numbers for UFC ON FOX 11 and show that an average of 1.986 million viewers tuned in to the live event on Saturday night for an 0.8 rating for adults 18-49.

That’s a poor number by UFC standards on the main FOX channel, giving it the dubious distinction of being the least watched of the 11 event series so far, displacing the previous low mark of 2.08 million for UFC On FOX 8: Johnson Vs Moraga.

It should be noted that these are just overnight numbers and there’s a good chance they will trend upwards once the final numbers come in later in the week, but more than likely not by enough to classify this show as anything other than a disappointment on the ratings front.

There’s a number of reasons why the figures could be low. The show wasn’t heavily promoted and though on paper there were a lot of competitive fights at the top end of the card, neither Fabricio Werdum or Travis Browne is considered a draw at this stage in their careers.

Still, the general theory is that heavyweight main events attract more casual interest than lighter weight one’s, but that didn’t appear to be the case this time around with flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson consistently haven pulled better numbers than we saw at the weekend.

The sheer number of UFC events recently may have also been a turn-off for regular viewers, with UFC On FOX 11 being the third event from the promotion in nine days which seems excessive and means that the fighting talent is spread more thinly across these shows than would be considered optimal.
