After a successful ‘taster’ event last weekend the UFC won’t have to wait to longer before their next network television offering with ‘UFC On FOX 2’ now pencilled in for January 28th in Chicago.

The news comes a day after the final numbers came in for their first event on FOX, with an average of 5.7 million viewers tuning in for the hour long broadcast, including an impressive peak of 8.8 million during the live heavyweight title fight between Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos.

According to Mike Goldberg in a recent interview with Ariel Helwani the ‘UFC On FOX 2’ event will run for 2.5 hours and feature multiple fights. There’s no official word on who will headline the show just yet, but there is talk that Anderson Silva’s next title defence, which will more than likely come against Chael Sonnen, could be under consideration.

The promotion certainly aren’t resting on their laurels, as they have only just confirmed their first ‘UFC On FX’ event will take place on January 20th in Nashville, while a week after ‘UFC On FOX 2’ will come UFC 144: GSP Vs Diaz on Superbowl weekend on pay-per-view.
