The UFC are gearing up for their second major event on FOX later this month, the first since their deal officially began on January 1st, but behind-the-scenes they are already mapping out the next event on the network as well.
According to The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, ‘UFC On FOX 3’ will take place on May 5th.
Interestingly, that’s the same date as superstar boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr is rumored to be fighting next, similar to when the ‘UFC On FOX 1’ show was shown on the same night as Manny Pacquiao fought back in November.
So far there’s no indication of who will fight at the event, but it’s certain to be a star-studded line-up as is only fitting for a show that will likely be watched by several millions of viewers.
The ‘UFC On FOX 1’ show attracted an average of 5.7 million viewers, peaking at an impressive 8.8 million, and the promotion will be hoping for similar results on January 28th when ‘UFC On FOX 2’ which will occupy a two hour slot on Saturday night primetime TV.
