UFC On FOX 5 Prelims Upgraded From Fuel TV To FX

In the past the prelims for the ‘UFC On FOX’ series of events have aired live on Fuel TV, but the undercard for the fifth FOX event on December 8th has been upgraded to  FX.

The FX prelims will be headlined by a heavyweight tilt between Brendan Schaub and Lavar Johnson, while Yves Edwards Vs Jeremy Stephens, Michael Chiesa Vs Marcus LeVesseur and Ramsey Nijem Vs Joe Proctor round off the two hour show.

It seems like a sensible move from FOX to do this as they’ll want to end the year on a high after their last few UFC shows on the channel underperformed.  Putting the prelims on Fuel TV means they only scrape around 100,000 – 200,000 viewers tops, whereas a show on FX should pull in somewhere around the million mark and gives them a solid platform to promote the upcoming main card on ‘big’ FOX immediately afterwards.

It’s worth mentioning that prior to the FX prelims there will also be a further five bouts which will be available to watch live on Facebook.
