UFC ON FOX 6: TV Ratings (Finalized)

The final numbers are now in for ‘UFC On FOX 6’ this past Saturday night and shows that an average of 4.2 million viewers tuned into the live broadcast.

That’s up from the overnights estimate on Sunday which pegged the audience at 3.77 million, though it’s also 200,000 shy of the 4.4 million viewers that tuned into ‘UFC On FOX 5’ in December.

The main event peaked with 5.2 million viewers during the Demetrious Johnson Vs John Dodson headliner, compared with 5.7 million who watched Ben Henderson Vs Nate Diaz at ‘UFC On FOX 5’.

The event did however improve upon their numbers in the highly coveted 18-34 year-old men demographic, scoring a 3.0 rating which is 7% up on December’s event which will please FOX execs who can use those numbers to tempt in advertisers for future events.

Overall this is still a very good showing as the previous event was particularly stacked with stars, while this weekend’s offering was headlined by a flyweight title fight – a division that’s still finding it’s feet after being introduced to the UFC’s ranks last year.

The UFC now appear to have a firmer footing after the disappointment of the third and fourth event’s in the FOX series last year which dipped to a low of 2.4 million viewers, and with another title fight featuring Ben Henderson Vs Gilbert Melendez scheduled for ‘UFC On FOX 7’ in April there’s a good chance they are going to continue onwards and upwards from here.
