The final TV ratings are in for ‘UFC On FOX 8’ this past Saturday night and show that 2.38 million viewers tuned in for the live broadcast, delivering a 1.5 rating.

That confirms it as the lowest rated ‘UFC On FOX’ show to date, though not by much, just 42,000 viewers off ‘UFC On FOX 3’ and 44,000 removed from ‘UFC On FOX 4’, both of which took place in the summer of last year.

Saturday’s show still won the night amongst the key 18-49 adult demographic which is considered to be the most important factor for advertisers.

Meanwhile, the ‘UFC On FOX 8’ preliminary card on FX also produced sub-par results, with just 904,000 viewers tuning in, down considerably from the 1.3 million average UFC cards have so far produced on the channel.

Overall the numbers are partly explained by the fact that this fell during the traditionally quieter summer period, and that it was a fight card that lacked star power in comparison with previous ‘UFC On FOX’ shows.

The next FOX show is expected to take place in December, and while there’s no fights announced for it yet it’s safe to assume that the UFC will be aiming to put on a strong card and look for a significant swell on the ratings front.
