UFC On Fuel TV 2: Medical Suspensions

Despite a number of competitive bouts featuring a significant number of finishes inside the distance, UFC On Fuel TV 2’s suspension list is remarkably small.

In fact only two fighters, Paul Thiago and Alessio Sakara will be required to take some time out after their respective bouts on the Swedish card.

Thiago suffered a brutal knockout in the opening minute of his fight with Siyar Bahadurzada which left him face down on the canvas and will require him to serve a 28 day medical suspension. After the event Bahadurzada had feared he may have broken his hand landing the KO blow, but tests conducted since have shown that not to be the case.

Meanwhile Sakara also fell victim to a knockout blow in his bout with Brian Stann. While he quickly regained consciousness he’ll also still have to keep out of harm’s way for the next 28 days.

While serving their suspensions both fighters may have reason to wonder how secure their future’s are in the UFC with Thiago now having won just one of his last four fights, while the injury-plagued Sakara has picked up back-to-back defeats.
