UFC On Fuel TV 8 Smashes Network’s TV Ratings Record

UFC On Fuel TV 8 drew an average of 485,000 viewers on the network this past Saturday night, smashing their previous ratings record.

The previous high mark on Fuel TV came for ‘UFC On Fuel TV 1’ back in January of 2012 which drew just 217,000 viewers.  By comparison, Saturday’s event did 282,000 viewers just in the males 18-49 demographic alone!

FOX recently secured a new deal that will see Fuel TV made available to Comcast’s 22 million subscribers, but it should be noted that this wasn’t done in time for last weekend so they don’t count in these figures.

On paper this was the most stacked card on Fuel to date and while much of the event proved to be a disappointment, the main event between Wanderlei Silva and Brian Stann proved to be an instant classic, while the co-main event between Mark Hunt and Stefan Struve also provided plenty of entertainment.

Such was the  buzz around the event that the pre-fight show drew 250,000 viewers and the post-fight analysis managed to keep 219,000 viewers.

“F****in amazing, Fox is going crazy,” White exclaimed in a text message to MMAfighting when asked for his reaction to the ratings.

Overall it’s great news for the UFC and Fuel TV, and would appear to have exceeded everybody’s expectations.
