The live coverage of UFC On Fuel TV 9 from Sweden drew an average of 236,000 viewers on Saturday afternoon.

As a direct comparison, the last time the UFC visited Sweden for ‘UFC On Fuel TV 2’ they drew 197,000 viewers so this was a notable increase.

Even better though, Saturday’s show now ranks as the most watched UFC event on Fuel TV event ever in a non-primetime slot and was the highest rated show on ad-supported cable in both the male 18-34 and male 18-49 demographics.

That’s an impressive showing given that the card lost it’s headliner Alexander Gustafsson and had to be replaced by the unknown Ilir Latifi, while the rest of the event’s line-up was considered to be underwhelming.

It’s a nice victory for the channel, but truth be told the ratings aren’t as important as they once were as it appears that much of the UFC’s programming on Fuel TV is set to be shifted over to FOX Sports 1 when it launches in August.

That should lead to a marked increase in the ratings given that FS1 is going to be available in around 90 million homes whereas Fuel TV pales in comparison with only around 34 million.
