The ratings are in for Friday night’s ‘UFC On FX 2’ event and show that an average of 1.4 million viewers tuned in to the two hour broadcast.

That’s up 100,000 from the previous ‘UFC On FX 1’ show in January, though it’s actually down 100,000 on the ‘UFC 144 prelim show’ just a week ago which is the current high watermark for the promotion on the channel so far.

Friday night’s offering featured an entertaining headline bout between Martin Kampmann and Thiago Alves, plus the introduction of the flyweight division via two competitive semi-final tournament bouts so those who did tune in will likely have been satisfied with what they saw.

The only disappointment from the UFC’s perspective will be that the fight between Ian McCall and Demetrious Johnson was marred by an incorrect totalling of the judges scorecards which lead to Johnson being awarded a majority decision win when it should have been a majority draw which would have lead to a ‘sudden victory’ round.

Meanwhile, Fuel TV offered three hours of preliminary coverage for the event and drew an average of 113,000 viewers, down 35,000 viewers from the ‘UFC On FX 1’ prelims.

Now all eyes turn to FX again this Friday when the UFC launches the weekly ‘Ultimate Fighter: Live’ show on the channel.
