UFC On FX 5: Medical Suspensions

The medical suspensions resulting from UFC On FX 5 have now been released and it’s a surprisingly short list.

Of those included only Danny Castillo is suspended indefinitely until he gets the all-clear from a neurological examination after his KO loss to Michael Johnson.

However, though the suspensions list suggests that headliner Travis Browne will only be out for 30 days following his loss to Antonio Silva, it’s since emerged following a visit to his doctor that he’s going to be sidelined for 2-4 months due to a hamstring injury suffered early in the fight.

Travis Browne: suspended 30 days with no contact during training for 14 days for precautionary reasons
Jay Hieron: suspended 30 days with no contact during training for 14 days due to a laceration
Jussier Formiga: suspended 30 days with no contact during training for 14 days for precautionary reasons
Danny Castillo: suspended indefinitely until cleared by a neurological exam; regardless, suspended 60 days with no contact during training for 45 days for precautionary reasons
Diego Nunes: suspended 45 days with no contact during training for 30 days due to a laceration
Bart Palaszewski: suspended 45 days with no contact during training for 30 days due to a laceration
Aaron Simpson: suspended 60 days with no contact during training for 45 days for precautionary reasons
