UFC On FX 8: TV Ratings

Saturday night’s ‘UFC On FX 8’ drew an average of 1.3 million viewers on the network.

That’s down 600,000 from an all-time high of 1.9 million for ‘UFC On FX 7’, but it still falls within the average ratings we’ve come to expect from live events on FX.

In addition, the prelims for the event which aired on Fuel TV drew 156,000 viewers, just slightly above the channel’s average.

Iit’s not surprising to see a dip in the ratings on FX this time out as the main card had been weakened by injuries, most notably in the co-main event where Chris Camozzi had to step in for Costa Philippou to take on Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza.

Also, while the main event between Vitor Belfort and Luke Rockhold looked good on paper and would go on to produce one of the most spectacular KO’s of the year so far, former Strikeforce champion Rockhold isn’t yet well known by casual UFC fans, so overall the ratings were about where I’d have expected them to be.
