There’s been a series of fight announcements for August’s UFC On Versus 5 fight card over the past 24 hours, including a couple of guaranteed barn-burners.

Firstly, a meaningful encounter at 155lbs pits one of the division’s top contenders Jim Miller against former WEC champ Ben Henderson for what should be an energetic and entertaining battle.

Despite winning seven fights in a row, Miller is likely to remain just out of reach of a title shot even if he wins here though, with Edgar Vs Maynard being postponed until later in the year, and Anthony Pettis still believed to be the next No.1 contender if he defeats Clay Guida at the TUF 13 finale.

Meanwhile, you’ll be hard pushed to find a better contender for UFC On Versus 5’s ‘Fight Of The Night’ award than Dan Hardy Vs Chris Lytle.

Despite losing his last three fights Hardy wasn’t looking for an easy opponent next, and in fact called out Lytle in the hope that they would have a stand-up war.

Other fights also announced so far include Stephan Bonnar Vs Karlos Vemola and Danny Castillo Vs Jacob Volkmann.

UFC On Versus 5 is expected to take place on Sunday, August 14th in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
